Twilight, True Blood, etc.
I went to see Twilight opening night and I really enjoyed the movie.! I feel like it could have been longer and included more stuff from the book, but overall I think they did a very good job. It pretty much followed the storyline of the book and I think the fight scenes between Edward and James were wonderful! Character wise I think the actors playing Edward, Bella, Charlie, Billy, Jacob, James, Laurent, and Victoria were on key. I have to admit that I did not picture Kevin or Eric as the characters who portrayed them. My husband Mike really enjoyed the movie too. He’s so romantic!
Anyway, I think there were some key conversational scenes from the book that were left out of the movie. For example, Bella and Edward had so many conversations that were not shown in the movie. These conversations played a key role in the growth of their relationship and I would have like to have seen that! Anyway, kudos to Stephanie Meyers on her first motion picture and I cannot wait for the following three movies.
True Blood exceeded my expectations as a series entirely. I was very unsure if the characters would capture the essence of Charlaine Harris’ books and I think they went above and beyond that. Having read the books I think I have a one up on some people, but I honestly enjoyed watching this first season in its entirety. I am very sad that it won’t be coming back until Summer 2009, but I think the reason it was so short is because they were unsure how many fans the books actually had and they didn’t know how well received it would be. I think that the measure of success from the fans actually blew them away. So, here’s to the next season of True Blood.
Reading update…I am rereadng The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. I read this years and years ago while in high school and I am really enjoying rereading it now. There were some things I have realized I didn’t catch back then and I’m unsure if it was because of the maturity level needed to read this book or the fact that it contains so many detailed descriptions.
In school, I have just created my first project for class. It was a personal logo in black and white. I think I really did a good job capturing my nature. It’s posted here for you to see. I got an A on the project itself and this week we are experimenting with different colors for the logo. Once that is done I’ll post the final with the color(s) that I chose. Anyway, let me know if you like it!
True Blood – Episode 12 Preview
Man…I am really excited and sad at the same time. Here it is finally….the final episode of the season. Don’t miss it!
True Blood Episode 11 Preview
Only 2 episodes left and the promo is leaving me wondering a bit! It showed Sookie rescinding Bill’s invitation to her house. Is this the end of Bill and Sookie? I know the answer, but only because I read the books!
True Blood – Episode 10 Preview
There are only 3 episodes left! Here is the promo for episode 10. I would also suggest that you read the Southern Vampire Mysteries that the show is based on written by Charlaine Harris. They are awesome!
True Blood…Episode 8 Preview
Don’t miss it tonight!!!
True Blood
OMG! I can’t believe that I almost forgot to mention the newest show I am into. It is called True Blood and it plays on HBO, Sunday nights, 8pm CST. If you have not watched this show you really need to check it out. Being the fantasy fan that I am, this show is about vampires who have “come out” and let the world know that they exist. It is based on the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris (and I’ve read every one of them). The show is really great if you are into folklore, fantasy, etc. If you want more info on the show go to http://www.hbo.com/trueblood/.
